A Prayer For Those Joining The Church

 

 

 

Eternal God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father through Him, we  thank  You for bringing into our fellowship these servants and co-labors who come to us from other churches and other places.  We welcome them as partners in making church a mission station and a lighthouse to our community, our city, our county, our country and the  whole, wide world.

 

We thank You for the churches which have played a vital role in the lives of each one of them - churches and pastors which nurtured their faith, sustained them in times of trouble and helped them use their gifts to Your honor and glory.  Loving Father, You who, created the stars and call them by name, certainly  know the names of each and everyone whom we welcome into our fellowship this morning.  You not only know their names but with the quill of heaven You have written each of them in the Lamb’s book of life.  May these, Your people, treasure that record and witness to it with boldness and daring, even as we pray may they always be ready and willing to speak unashamedly and excitedly of their membership in our Church.

 

Lord Jesus, enable all us to walk together in harmony and holiness; to support one another in times of trial and testing; and to challenge one another in service and saintliness, that all of us may bear fruit as  disciples  of our  Lord and Savior Jesus  Christ.  Melt us and mold us into one dynamic church which reaches people of all ages, races, and graces, united in our love for Jesus and our desire to share that love with a loveless world.
